MarQuest Combat/Safety

 

Combat at this event operates on an honor system. If you've been hit, call it. There will be battlefield Heralds to help ensure player safety and maintain sportsmanlike conduct.

Though we want combat to be fast-paced and intense, you do not need to hit people as hard as you can. Ideally, this would look like, full-speed, medium contact.

Head, neck, and hands do not count as a strike. Try to avoid hitting these areas if at all possible. Additionally, feet on the ground do not count as a strike. But, as soon as a combatant lifts their foot off of the ground, it counts as part of the leg.

 

HIT POINTS:

Metal Armor- 3HP

Leather Armor -2HP

No Armor- 1HP

Different body parts can have different types of armor. Perhaps you wear leather on your torso but steel bracers. In this instance, your torso would have 2HP while your forearms would have 3HP.

This all applies to combat in a simple way. When you are hit, deduct a point of HP from that body part. If an appendage is reduced to 0, you lose the appendage. If you lose two separate appendages, you die. If your torso is reduced to 0, you die.

 

DEATH AND RESURRECTION:

If you are defeated on the battlefield, take a knee and place your weapon on your head. A member of your faction must escort you back to the healer's tent while maintaining contact with you as long as you are both moving. During this escort, your teammate can still be engaged in combat. If they too are defeated, you must both kneel with your weapon over your head.

Once back to the healer's tent, a cleric will bind your wounds and hand you a timer. When the time expires, the cleric will unbind your wounds and you will be resurrected. You're now free to reenter the fray.

INJURY:

In the event that anyone is injured, it is the responsibility of all present parties to immediately cease combat and yell "STOP!".

The heralds will assess the situation and make sure everyone is safe and properly cared for before combat is allowed to resume.

ABSOLUTELY NO STRIKING WITH APPENDAGES. ANYONE SEEN STRIKING ANOTHER PARTICIPANT WITH FISTS OR FEET, WILL IMMEDIATELY BE ESCORTED FROM THE PROPERTY.

ADDITIONALLY, ANYONE USING THEIR WEAPONS WITH INTENT TO DO REAL BODILY HARM WILL BE ESCORTED FROM THE PROPERTY.

NO SHIELD BASHING.

ABSOLUTELY NO VERBAL ABUSE THAT DOES NOT FALL IN LINE WITH IN-GAME BANTER.
